Born in Budapest, Hungary, Dóri Varga was raised by a family of six children. With a degree in Art Management, she worked within the contemporary art world as a curator between her hometown and Berlin, Germany for many years. Poetry came last— after she moved to America in 2013, became a mother, and founded TRIBE de MAMA; an international women empowerment platform.
Through poetry, Dóri is interested in the explorations of self-discovery. Psychology and spirituality go hand in hand while she observes the exchange between the mind, body and spirit. First Tantric, then Islamic studies have given her a frame while creating around the subject of relating through womanhood, motherhood and romance.
Dóri’s first collection of poems Watching with Closed Eyes was released in March 2019.
